Why wetware.co.nz?

Wetware is …?

The term wetware is used to describe the embodiment of the concepts of the physical construct known as the central nervous system (CNS) and the mental construct known as the human mind. It is a two-part abstraction drawn from the computer-related idea of hardware or software.

I have setup this blog to share my experiences with software development and anything else I see fit.

I will in future use this site to display any dabbles in Artificial Intelligence and hopefully will provide a good resource to others.  In the mean time I have a couple links to some interesting knowledge about AI.

My name is Jordan Carter, I live and work in Wellington, New Zealand.  I work for madefromnewzealand.com as lead developer (or as more appropreately, sole developer).  I have just graduated with a Bachelor of Information Science from Massey University.  Will probably head back into study in a few years after working a bit.  Would like to learn more about AI, NN’s and hopefully research some of my own.  For the moment tho, I am a Rails developer and in this blog I will record my progress.

    Hi Jordan,

I am wondering whether you would be interested in assisting me with the development of an iPhone/iPod Touch application. I have what I think is a pretty good idea but no programming skills.

I am also based in Wellington.

Hey Jon, unfortunately I have no time to commit to any other projects at the moment. I am very busy with work, 3 blogs, a few rails projects on the side.

Thank you for your interest and I hope you find someone who can help. Sorry I am not aware of any iPhone Dev groups in Wellington I could point you to.

Hi Jordan. Every code fragment in this blog has the following error:
GeSHi Error: GeSHi could not find the language objc (using path /var/www/blog//wp-content/plugins/codesnippet/lib/geshi/) (code 2)

I really want to see how you implemented some objective c stuff. Is there any chance to solve this? Or can you send me the code for this article (How to popup a UIPickerView from the bottom of a UIScrollView in response to UITextField selection)?

Jordan, I found your comment on the below discussion, and am interested in your script, if you have it available. Is this ready to post? Even if rough, I’d love to use it as a starting point, since I’m preparing to migrate to s3. Thanks in advance.
